Recovering alcoholics attend individual therapy at the "House of Hope on a Hill" in a village outside St. Petersburg, Russia. Patients are asked to write and recall past events that led to drinking. .The centre, started by American Lou Bantle, treats alcoholics from all over Russia for free. .Alcoholism is a main cause of death in Russia.
