Inventor who created a machine that turns waste into energy-rich syngas works at home

Scientist inventor Vjekoslav Majetić works at his Indeloop factory in Zagreb, Croatia.

His invented a machine that turns waste into syngas. The gas contains approximately 50% carbon and 50% hydrogen, a highly-explosive element gaining traction in the energy world as the emission-free "fuel of the future”.

The machine uses a rotating oven to gasify waste. Jets of water pummell the gas in a cylindrical washer, giving out purified syngas.

Majetić invented the machine and hired Maljković to develop its applications.
