Herders feast and get drunk in front of their yurt in the taiga in Tuva Republic, Russia to celebrate Orlan's (in whte shirt) 35th birthday. Orlan (Tuvans normally use just one name) owns about 50 sheep, goats and milking cows. Like many other animal herders in the republic, Orlan prefers traditional farming methods but finds it difficult to compete in modern society.
