Ship carrying wind turbine blades arrive at the Groningen sea port

A ship carrying wind turbine blades from China arrives at the Groningen sea port in northern Netherlands.   The boat will offload the blades at the Buss Terminal at Eemshaven, one of the key habours supplying the off-shore wind industry in the North Sea.  In the background on the left is the Vattenfall (formerly NUON Magnum) power plant, which runs on natural gas. Behind it (with the chimney) is the RWE coal-fired power plant.

From the Groningen Sea Port, wind farms are also built off the UK coast. The location of Eemshaven is favourable not only for the Netherlands but also the surrounding countries.
